چکیده

This paper describes an efficient reduction of the learning problem of ranking to binary classification. As with a recent result of Balcan et al. [6], the reduction guarantees an average pairwise misranking regret of at most 2r using a binary classifier with regret r. However, our reduction applies to a broader class of ranking loss functions, admits a simpler proof, and the expected running time complexity of our algorithm in terms of number of calls to a classifier or preference function is improved from Ω(n) to O(n log n). Furthermore, when the top k ranked elements only are required (k ≪ n), as in many applications in information extraction or search engines, the time complexity of our algorithm can be further reduced to O(k log k + n). Our reduction and algorithm are thus practical for realistic applications where the number of points to rank exceeds several thousands. Much of our results also extend beyond the bipartite case previously studied.

Evaluation and ranking of suppliers with fuzzy DEA and PROMETHEE approach

Supplier selection is a multi-Criteria problem. This study proposes a hybrid model for supporting the suppliers’ selection and ranking. This research is a two-stage model designed to fully rank the suppliers where each supplier has multiple Inputs and Outputs. First, the supplier evaluation problem is formulated by Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), since the regarded decision deals with uncertai...

Diagnosis of Diabetes Using an Intelligent Approach Based on Bi-Level Dimensionality Reduction and Classification Algorithms

Objective: Diabetes is one of the most common metabolic diseases. Earlier diagnosis of diabetes and treatment of hyperglycemia and related metabolic abnormalities is of vital importance. Diagnosis of diabetes via proper interpretation of the diabetes data is an important classification problem. Classification systems help the clinicians to predict the risk factors that cause the diabetes or pre...

Discrimination of Power Quality Distorted Signals Based on Time-frequency Analysis and Probabilistic Neural Network

Recognition and classification of Power Quality Distorted Signals (PQDSs) in power systems is an essential duty. One of the noteworthy issues in Power Quality Analysis (PQA) is identification of distorted signals using an efficient scheme. This paper recommends a Time–Frequency Analysis (TFA), for extracting features, so-called "hybrid approach", using incorporation of Multi Resolution Analysis...

An approach to rank efficient DMUs in DEA based on combining Manhattan and infinity norms

In many applications, discrimination among decision making units (DMUs) is a problematic technical task procedure to decision makers in data envelopment analysis (DEA). The DEA models unable to discriminate between extremely efficient DMUs. Hence, there is a growing interest in improving discrimination power in DEA yet. The aim of this paper is ranking extreme efficient DMUs in DEA based on exp...

Ranking Efficient DMUs Using the Ideal point and Norms

In this paper, presenting two simple methods for ranking of efficient DMUs in DEA models that included to add one virtual DMU as ideal DMU and is using the additive model. Note that, we use an ideal point just for comparing efficient DMUs with. Although these methods are simple, they have ability for ranking all efficient DMUs, extreme points and the others, also they are capable of ranking t...
